Three quick questions

The ABC News website recently published this article outlining how to avoid risky renovations, focusing on one Brisbane home-owner’s experience. Don’t let this happen to you. Do your research and ask these three quick questions.

1. Are they licenced?

In Queensland, if you engage a painter for projects over $3300 they need to carry a licence. Check the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) website here. Holding an up-to-date licence ensures your painter has the right qualifications.

2. Do they carry Public Liability insurance?

While it’s not compulsory, it certainly gives peace-of-mind to know that any accidents (to person or property) can be sorted out quickly and easily through insurance.

3. Is Home Warranty Insurance included?

Another compulsory requirement for projects over $3300 in Queensland. The premium is paid to the QBCC to protect the home owner if the contractor can’t or won’t finish the contracted painting project, or fails to fix defects.

As premium painting contractors, East Coast Painters meet all three of these requirements. Contact us today to discuss how we can make your renovation experience an exceptional one.
