Project spotlight - Internal repaint Manly West

After completing the exterior repaint for Gail and Ray in October 2023, we were invited back to quote the interior of their Manly West home.

Despite their impeccably kept home, it was time to refresh the original paintwork and look into a colour change. They were initially considering Vivid White, however knowing that this colour could create some issues, we organised a complimentary colour consultation with Lisa from Colour Wheels.

Lisa’s suggestion of Dulux Snowy Mountains Quarter provided a great substitute and meant that Gail and Ray didn’t spend hours agonising over colour charts and paint samples. It also meant that they could stick to the two-coat system.

“Because Vivid White just doesn’t have the coverage of other colours, we would need to apply a third coat of wall paint, possibly adding another $3,000 to the job”, Charlton said.

As the start date drew closer, Gail and Ray faced the challenge of packing the contents of their home into the garage, giving the team easy and clear access to the job while they treated themselves to a holiday.

Our leading hand Chris said it was a different experience for the team who is “used to working around our client’s busy lives”. As painting milestones were reached, we sent updates to the holidayers so they had an idea what to expect when they returned home.

Initially Gail wanted to wait for the big reveal, but she couldn’t help but check on the progress photos!

When it came to painting the recently renovated kitchen and bathrooms, special care was taken to encapsulate the areas to make sure no paint or dust entered the cupboards or drawers. We also installed new door handles and hinges throughout the house, saving our clients the time and hassle of having to do this themselves on their return.

“Ray and I would just like to thank you once again for such a professional and excellent job that you and your team have done for us again. We are very, very happy with the end result and can see how you have excelled in making everything perfect for us, and also your kindness helping to put our bed back in our room – we really appreciated your help as it's bloody heavy,” said Gail.

Ray said he was more than happy with how smoothly the whole project flowed. “There was never any mess at any point and nothing could make the experience any better.”
